Marketing and student retention get a whole lot easier when you really know and understand the people you’re trying to teach. There are three main categories of potential students out there that fall into three basic generations: Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers. Chances are you have some of each in your teaching studio right now. Each of these groups have very different values, expectations and views of the world and you need to understand at least a little bit about these differences if you want to teach them effectively. This is part two of a three part series covering how to do generational marketing more effectively.
In this episode, I’ll tell you all about the second group – Generation X – and how they think. I’ll get into some common myths people believe about this group of people and turn them upside down so you can understand what really makes them tick. I’ll also cover how to market to them effectively so they’ll have a better chance of becoming your guitar students, and I’ll cover how to adapt your teaching methods so that you have the best chance of improving your student retention with this generation and keeping them in your studio longer.
