One Way You Can Beat The Competition

Start Teaching GuitarYou probably have tons of guitar teachers in your town, right? I’m sure your local music stores are full of competition for your services. Here’s an idea you can use to help you stand out in the crowd and hopefully attract more students:

Give your students tons of VALUE for their money!

Do the other guitar teachers in town provide additional value with their lessons? A good teacher will go the extra mile and provide extra resources and opportunities that will help students develop on the guitar OUTSIDE of the weekly guitar lessons…and at least some of them should be FREE!

You can do things like:

  • Put on public student “recital” concerts, so your students can perform for their family & friends
  • Provide an online student discussion forum on your website
  • Give out tools your students can use to track their progress on the guitar
  • Set up social gatherings for your students, so they can network and connect with each other
  • Etc.

You want to be the teacher who provides more than just “lessons”. You want to create a community of local guitar students who are all working toward being the best they can be…this is much more effective for them than just showing up for a lesson every week.

Think outside the box…there are tons of things you can do to provide more value for the money your students are paying you. This will help you keep your current students around longer and attract more new ones, too.

Do you have some cool ideas about ways to add value to your guitar lessons? Share them in the comments below!
